How do you use Hoof Mate and Beeswax Blue Balls together?

Begin by preparing and using the Hoof Mate soaking solution according to the manufacturer’s directions. Once the hoof has been soaked, cleaned and allowed to dry, shape a small amount of Beeswax Blue Balls by hand and smear it across the upper section of the prepared hoof wall recess.

How much soaking solution does the Hoof Mate box make?

The box contains 30 tablets and makes up to 15 litres of soaking solution. One tablet makes approximately 500 mL.

Can horse owners use this hoof care combo?

Yes. The products may be used by horse owners, owner-trimmers, farriers and hoof care professionals who understand how to assess and prepare the intended hoof area.

The Beeswax Blue Balls and Hoof Mate Combo provides a simple two-step routine using a hoof soak followed by a mouldable, cosmetic wax-based hoof product.

Thoroughly clean the hoof before preparing the Hoof Mate solution.

Prepare and use Hoof Mate strictly according to the directions on the manufacturer’s packaging. Soak the hoof for 20–30 minutes, then remove it from the soaking solution and allow the hoof to dry thoroughly.

Once the hoof wall area is dry and appropriately prepared, break off a small amount of Beeswax Blue Balls, shape it by hand and smear it across the upper section of the prepared hoof wall recess.

The products are designed to be used in conjunction with each other as part of this two-step hoof care routine. Follow the individual directions and cautions for both products.

This combo contains two products with separate formulations.

Beeswax Blue Balls are Australian made from a proprietary cosmetic wax-based blend containing copper sulfate, which is dispersed throughout the wax.

Hoof Mate contains chlorine dioxide-forming tablets. Refer to the manufacturer’s packaging for the complete ingredient and product information.

Follow all directions and cautions provided with each individual product.

Use Hoof Mate only in a well-ventilated area.

Do not breathe the gas produced by the activated Hoof Mate solution.

Do not use metal utensils, containers or soaking equipment with Hoof Mate.

Keep out of reach of children and pets.

Store both products below 25°C and away from direct sunlight. Keep the Beeswax Blue Balls lid firmly closed and retain the Hoof Mate tablets in their original sealed packaging.

Shelf life varies between products. Refer to each individual product container for the applicable shelf life.

Beeswax Blue Balls and Hoof Mate first aid: Do not swallow. If swallowed, do not induce vomiting. If skin or hair contact occurs, remove contaminated clothing and flush the area with running water. If the product enters the eyes, flush with running water and continue until advised to stop by a Poisons Information Centre or doctor, or for at least 15 minutes.
